There’s certainly no doubt that Ivan Toney would be an excellent signing for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal this coming summer.
Toney is about to return to Premier League football for Brentford and many expect that he’ll hit the ground running.

The forward seems to be in the prime of his career, showing so much confidence in his rich ability.
And although Toney is set to stay at Brentford this January, that’s a situation that may be revisited in the summer, with Arsenal said to be very interested.
The England striker currently only has 18 months left on his contract with Brentford, meaning the club will probably cash-in this summer unless a new deal is signed.
And whilst Arsenal should be well placed in that incidence, there may be a better option elsewhere in the league.
24-year-old Alexander Isak is currently looking incredibly impressive at Newcastle United.
Scoring 20 goals in 38 Premier League games since arriving, there did seem no chance that Eddie Howe’s side would be willing to sell their star striker.
However, it’s now been reported that the club may be forced to sell one of their prime assets in the summer – and Arsenal should be ready to pivot from Toney if so.
Arsenal should prioritise Alexander Isak over Ivan Toney this summer
Whilst Toney would be an excellent signing, he’s comfortably a better finisher than anyone at Arsenal, Isak’s profile could suit even better.
Isak is such a rare talent, at 6 ft 4 inch, the Sweden international still has incredibly good movement.

The striker can link play seamlessly as a false nine whilst also proving to be a devastating finisher inside the box.
He’s got it all, and it’s understandable why Arsenal are interested.
Arsenal fans certainly won’t be disappointed if they sign Toney in the summer, rightfully so, but an Isak pursuit would show so much ambition.
Although a move may cost beyond £100m, it would justify why Arsenal are willing to be so quiet in January with a view to the summer.
As stated, there’s plenty of reason to buy Toney, just look at his passing statistics with David Raya.
But if Arsenal want to compete with the very best once again, then Isak could be their man.
