Arsenal should make late bid for ‘phenomenal’ Premier League talent as deal makes so much sense

Right now, Arsenal are being relentlessly linked with a lot of names before Friday’s transfer deadline given Mikel Arteta is thought to still be in the market for a new forward.

Arsenal have only welcomed two new faces to the club this summer in the form of Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino, an exciting duo.

However, before the summer began, a lot of the club’s supporters would have expected more – not in terms of quality, but in terms of numbers.

Of course, right from the off, Arsenal weren’t prepared to bloat their squad, Edu and his team put a real emphasis on offloading players first.

But given Eddie Nketiah is set to leave Arsenal, and Fabio Vieira is already back in Portugal on loan, it does appear as if there’s space for one more attacker.

Realistically, Arsenal aren’t going to sign Victor Osimhen in the next few days, and they’re not going to nab Ivan Toney either.

But given that Arsenal were prepared to sign Benjamin Sesko earlier this summer, there’s one more sensible option that remains on the table.

Arsenal have the perfect opportunity to sign Evan Ferguson from Brighton this week

Arsenal have been linked with Evan Ferguson in the past, Brighton & Hove Albion’s imposing young striker, and now is the perfect time to execute a deal.

Firstly, Ferguson could be more available than ever at Brighton, who have spent a considerable amount of money on new attacking talent.

Brajan Gruda, Yankuba Minteh, Georginio Rutter and former Arsenal man Amario Cozier-Duberry have all been signed.

Along with the names mentioned, Brighton now have four recognised strikers, and no European football to share game time among them all.

Ferguson is the most similar profile to Sesko out there right now, a player with an incredibly high-ceiling, even if he’s endured a difficult time with injury of late.

As mentioned, Arsenal clearly like Ferguson’s profile, and given he returned from injury to sit on the bench in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, now could be the perfect time to execute a deal.

Arsenal are thought to be in a strong financial position right now, and although Ferguson won’t come cheap, a deal should still be realistic.

A ‘phenomenal’ talent who has already proven that he can do it at the highest level, and he simply needs the guidance of someone like Arteta to reach the top.
