Arsenal are flying in the Premier League this season but it looks like plans are already being put in place for the summer transfer window.

The Gunners resisted the temptation to add to their squad in January, despite many calling for a new striker to be added to the mix.

Mikel Arteta is now reaping the rewards of sticking with his players and having hammered Burnley 5-0 this weekend, the Gunners are well in title contention.

However, it seems plans for the summer are in place and according to Football Transfers, Arsenal sent their scouts to watch RB Salzburg midfielder, Oscar Gloukh, this weekend.

Arsenal looking to sign Oscar Gloukh

According to the report from FT, Arsenal had their reps in the stands this weekend to see Gloukh play 90 minutes for Salzburg in a 1-1 draw.

The young midfielder is seen as one of the hottest prospects outside of the top European leagues right now and is set for a number of offers this summer.

Arsenal, it is claimed, are trying to position themselves to make their move for Gloukh in the summer and Mikel Arteta is apparently keen on adding the youngster to the ranks.

Lauded as an ‘exceptional‘ midfield talent, Gloukh is expected to cost at least £40m for those clubs looking to sign him.

Arsenal looking far and wide

RB Salzburg has become a bit of a breeding ground for top young players and we’ve seen a number of stars emerge from Austria in recent years.

On the surface, it looks like Gloukh is going to be next player to emerge and do the business for a big club.

Right now, he is performing well for Salzburg but a move away from them will definitely be on the agenda in the coming months.

Arsenal, as we know, are a good fit for most players and if they do want Gloukh, then there’s no doubt that he can develop into a top player for them.
