Arsenal receive boost in Lautaro Martinez pursuit

Arsenal look to have received a big boost in their pursuit of Lautaro Martinez with The Telegraph reporting that Inter need to sanction one big sale before the end of the month, and they would rather sell the Argentinian than Romelu Lukaku.

The Gunners are eyeing a hugely ambitious move for Martinez. It was The Telegraph who previously reported that an enquiry had been made by Mikel Arteta’s men.

Journalist Dean Jones has suggested this week that Martinez is open to moving to the Emirates. Arsenal meanwhile, are in pole position because they are apparently the only side to have made contact over the £68.3 million-rated star.

And it seems that the Gunners may have received a further boost.

Of course, Martinez is not the only Inter player with a big question mark hanging over their future.

As noted by The Telegraph, Lukaku is Chelsea’s top striker target. It is noted that the Nerazzurri value the Belgian at £100 million.

And it appears that something has to give. The Telegraph reports that Inter will need to make one big sale before the end of August.

The good news for Arsenal is Inter would reportedly rather sell Martinez than Lukaku.

Inter stance hints Arsenal could receive double boost should they sign Martinez

It would be a huge coup if Arsenal sign Martinez. He has been outstanding for Inter. And he would be leaving a club that can offer Champions League football to move to North London.

But there is obviously another reason a deal could be hugely beneficial to Arsenal.

Presumably, if Inter sell Martinez, they will not need to let Lukaku go also.

That would obviously see Chelsea miss out on a key target. And that could certainly help Mikel Arteta’s men as they look to close the gap to the sides above them in the table.
