Young Arsenal star, Marquinhos, enjoyed a fine performance for the Gunners last night against FC Zurich, as his stock continues to rise.
The summer signing was initially signed with the intention of being loaned out. However, such has been his impact in training and with the under-21s that Mikel Arteta has kept him around for now and with Arsenal not replacing Nicolas Pepe this summer, there is now an opening for the South American.

And according to Football London, it’s not just Arteta who Marquinhos is impressing. It’s claimed in the report from FL that Marquinhos is already a likeable character off the field too, and he’s been fully integrated into the club’s ever-growing Brazilian clique. It’s claimed the winger has made ‘quite the impression’ and along with Emile Smith Rowe and others, is seen as one of the top young players at the club.
Certainly, Mikel Arteta will be delighted with what he’s seeing from his summer signing. After all, it might be that he ends up saving a hefty chunk in the transfer market if Marquinhos can keep up his rate of progression.

Arsenal will need all their squad to contribute this season really. And if the young Brazilian can perform in Europe as he did last night, then the season looks bright for the Gunners.
