Dani Ceballos has told Onda Cero that believes he is better suited to playing in Spanish football, as he remains on loan at Arsenal from Real Madrid – before giving an update on his future ahead of what is an interesting summer.
Ceballos, 24, has been in and out of the Arsenal side of late. In the 17 Premier League games since the turn of the year, the Spain international has only started seven games – remaining an unused sub on five separate occasions.
It is the midfielder’s second season-long loan spell at The Emirates, clocking up 74 appearances in the time he has spent with the Gunners. Whether or not Arsenal choose to sign him permanently this summer remains to be seen.
La Razon recently claimed that Ceballos would cost Arsenal or any interested parties a fee of £22million, but the player himself has now been quoted by Onda Cero on Twitter – stating he thinks his style is better in Spain.
TBR’s view – Ceballos is not good enough for Arsenal
If the Gunners are to make a splash in the transfer market, the North London club need to forget about spending £22million on Ceballos this summer – and instead put that cash to better use, perhaps on another midfielder.
A partner for Thomas Partey is likely to be high on the agenda – and Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma is being strongly linked, recently labelled the dream addition by Ian Wright. Ceballos, though, would not be a good signing.
