Report: Arsenal have now been offered 'incredible' £6m-a-year World Cup player

Arsenal have actually been offered the chance to sign Adrien Rabiot as his agent looks to drum up interest in the Frenchman.

Rabiot, who starred for France in the World Cup, is expected to leave Juventus. A host of clubs are thought to be keen, with Tottenham and Manchester United among those in England said to hold an interest.

However, Arsenal have also been mentioned. And in a report from The Times, it’s been claimed that Rabiot has actually been directly offered to Arsenal as a potential signing.

The Times writes how Rabiots agent – who happens to be his mother – has offered the midfielder to both the Gunners and Tottenham recently. The 27-year-old is thought to want big money, with recent reports suggesting he’s looking to earn in the region of £170k-a-week on any contract.

Rabiot is known for being on big money anyway. The Mirror reported in the summer how his deal with Juventus was worth around £6m-a-year.

Lauded as being an ‘incredible‘ midfielder, Juventus are thought to be willing to sell Rabiot for between £10-13m in January. The Italian side are thought to believe the Frenchman has effectively made his mind up in wanting to join a Premier League club.

TBR’s View: Rabiot would improve Arsenal

There’s always been question marks over Adrien Rabiot really. He seems to crop up in every transfer window but has remained in France and Italy on huge money.

However, he did show what he was all about with his performances for France in the World Cup. Very much a player who does the dirty work, he can also contribute in the final third as well.

For Arsenal, there’s no doubting he’d improve the squad. Outside of Partey and Xhaka, Arsenal’s options in the heart of midfield remain light. Rabiot, then, could well prove an inspired January signing.
