Arsenal have been named as one of the clubs alerted to the availability of Callum Wilson, a player who once claimed he wanted to fight Gabriel Magalhaes.
The Gunners have been rumoured to be interested in plenty of strikers over the last few weeks, but they just don’t have the funds to make a big move this month. A surprise opportunity may have come up now, with Newcastle United star Wilson said to be available.

Callum Wilson once said he wanted to ‘fight’ Gabriel Magalhaes
Newcastle United are in a difficult position with respect to Financial Fair Play regulations.
Like Arsenal, they need to sell before they can buy, and The Standard claims today that Callum Wilson is one player who could be sold before next week’s deadline.
The report claims that the England striker’s availability has alerted clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United and also Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
We don’t know if the Gunners will consider a move to sign him in the coming days, but Wilson’s comments about Gabriel Magalhaes are very interesting to look back on now.
The Newcastle United striker said on the Footballer’s Football Podcast last month that he and Gabriel always go to war with each other. Wilson even claimed he wanted to fight the Brazilian the last time the two sides met.
He said: “I think for me, mine is Gabriel from Arsenal. He’s a good player, and off the field he’s probably a nice guy and we’d get along, but on the pitch it’s just like war.
“He wants to fight me, I want to fight him, we had a game against Arsenal recently and he was kicking me, I was clotheslining him, nudging him, elbowing him, standing on his foot, grabbing him for no reason.
“It started from the last game before this season, we had a bit on the pitch, and in the tunnel during the game this season, he was laughing with the Brazilians, and I was angry looking at him, and he looked at me and thinks ‘oh no, not you again.’ We got on the pitch and we started.”

Wilson would be an interesting option for Arsenal
Callum Wilson is a fantastic striker. He has shown over the years that he has what it takes to score goals in the Premier League.
The Englishman has scored 86 times in the English top flight over the years. With Arsenal struggling for goals from their strikers, he definitely is someone to think about.
However, Wilson’s injury issues are a concern. The Newcastle United star has already missed 11 games in all competitions due to injury this season, including the last two in the league.
That, combined with the fact that he’ll turn 32 next month, could be why clubs like Arsenal decide against signing him in this window.
