Arsenal fans have welcomed news regarding the Gunners making a bid for Manuel Locatelli.

The Gunners have been linked with the Sassuolo midfielder and Italy international this summer.

Now Arsenal have stepped up their bid to sign the £34m-rated star by lodging an official bid, according to Sassuolo’s CEO.

“Arsenal have made an official bid for Locatelli,” Giovanni Carnevali told Sky Italia.

“They’re pushing hard to sign Manuel and it’s an important bid… we will see.

“Juventus also want Locatelli and we have a special relationship with them. A new meeting has been scheduled with Juve.”

Needless to say, some Arsenal fans are excited about the news and have been rejoicing on Twitter.

Locatelli came through the ranks at AC Milan and joined Sassuolo on loan in 2018.

A year later, the Neroverdi paid a reported £12.6m to sign the 23-year-old permanently.

Locatelli has made 99 appearances for Sassuolo, including 34 last season.

However, the rising star is now truly making a name for himself at Euro 2020.

He has registered two goals and one assist from Italy’s three group games.
