Arsenal make contact to sign 25-year-old striker who Micah Richards thinks is ‘perfect’

Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Victor Osimhen over a potential move, with the Napoli striker also wanted by the likes of Chelsea.

The Nigerian international has been strongly linked with a Premier League switch for quite some time, with speculation hitting an all-time high this January amid interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, with no top English sides able to spend big this month, Osimhem’s move to the Premier League will likely have to wait until the summer, where Arsenal could go all out to sign the 25-year-old.

And according to CN24, the Gunners have now made contact with the Napoli striker, though the likes of Chelsea and PSG have also made similar moves for the Serie A superstar.

A forward Micah Richards once claimed is ‘perfect’ for Arsenal, signing Osimhen will break the bank for Arsenal and easily quash the club-record fee the Gunners laid out for Declan Rice last summer.

However, with Arsenal in desperate need of a world-class goalscoring striker, a move for Osimhen could be worth in the long-run for Mikel Arteta’s side, who have a good chance of landing the attacker.

Chelsea seem to be the early frontrunners for Osimhen’s signature, with Todd Boehly’s side set to flex their financial muscle yet again in the summer transfer window.

However, if the Blues fail to qualify for Europe for a second year in a row, it’s easy to deduce that Osimhen would much prefer a move to a club like Arsenal, who look set for another top-four finish.

As a result, the Gunners should feel confident in their abilities to land a massive name like Osimhen, with Arteta’s plan for Arsenal something that could entice the Nigerian to make the move to north London.

Moreover, the Napoli forward will likely play his best football at Arsenal, with the Premier League giants in need of a striker exactly like Osimhen, who could run rampant in England next season.
