Report: Arsenal have made a bid to sign 'relentless' World Cup star who Liverpool moved for last week

Arsenal are being linked with a host of players ahead of January and according to reports, have now bid for USA midfielder, Yunus Musah.

According to FC Inter News, the Gunners have already lodged a bid for Musah. That bid has been promptly rejected by Valencia, who see Musah as a key player. Further, his impressive World Cup with USA has only enhanced his reputation and put more on his valuation.

Of course, Arsenal’s reported bid comes just a week after reports suggested Liverpool had launched a move. 90Min reported at the start of this week how the Reds had made their first approach to sign Musah.

Praised by the US media for his ‘relentless‘ performances over in Qatar, Musah has built quite the reputation for himself. Alongside Leeds’ Tyler Adams, Musah was one of the standout performers for a US team who fell short against The Netherlands.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are continuing to plan for January. A midfielder and a winger are thought to be on their agenda.

The Gunners are set for another active window. The Kroenke’s are set to back Mikel Arteta after the Spaniard led them to the top of the PL table.

TBR’s View: Musah brings the energy Arsenal might need

There is no doubt Yunus Musah made a big impression at this World Cup. Sure, the USA might have got knocked out in the round of 16. But Musah was a star for them and showed so much quality.

Above all else, he brings bundles of energy that few players can offer. He is good with the ball as well, but it is that energy and drive which really sees him stand out.

Should Arsenal – or Liverpool for that matter – land Musah, then they’re getting a fine player. For the Gunners, a player like this might be just the ticket to keep their title push alive.
