Journalist Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that it is starting to appear that Arsenal are going to sign Evan Ndicka ahead of his contract expiring in the summer.

Ndicka has been superb for Eintracht Frankfurt this term, starting all 15 of their Bundesliga games. He also helped the Europa League champions progress out of their Champions League group.

But it seems that he may be on the move in the coming months. His deal with Frankfurt expires at the end of the season.

Starting to appear Arsenal are going to sign Ndicka

Reports from Il Romanista recently claimed that Arsenal want the 23-year-old. And Jones has now suggested that Mikel Arteta’s men are edging closer to agreeing a deal with the defender.

“It’s starting to look like they’ll get their man there,” he told Give Me Sport.

“Arsenal aren’t the only team that wanted him. He’s been getting offers from all around Europe.

“But their good season has put them in a good position.”

Arsenal signing Ndicka would be a real boost for the Gunners. Of course, the backline has been a real strength for Arteta’s side this season, with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes forming a superb partnership.

It is potentially not an area that Arsenal need to invest huge sums on. Ben White, Rob Holding and Takehiro Tomiyasu are amongst those who can also play at centre-back.

So signing someone such as Ndicka makes real sense. He has been labelled a ‘phenomenal‘ talent. And he should only improve in the coming years.

He is not going to eat up any of the transfer budget. And yet, he could become a major asset to the Gunners if he does join.

Obviously, Arsenal fans may not be getting carried away while nothing official has been confirmed. But the comments from Jones certainly sound very promising.

And there is reason to think that a move for Ndicka is indeed getting closer and closer.
