Arsenal fans react to Reiss Nelson contract reports

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from over the weekend claiming that the Gunners hope to agree a new contract with Reiss Nelson.

Nelson went into this campaign with a real point to prove at the Emirates. The 21-year-old only made two substitute appearances in the Premier League last term.

He is well on his way to eclipsing that tally this season having come off the bench against Brentford on Friday. But it would appear that he may be set to spend the year elsewhere.

According to The Sun, Arsenal hope to agree a new contract with Nelson. And then they will allow the winger to pick a loan move. Crystal Palace are keen.

It appears to have come as a surprise to some that Nelson is in line for a new deal. He still has two years left on his £50,000-a-week contract at the Emirates.

And it seems that a number of fans are not convinced that he has done enough to earn fresh terms.

Admittedly, some still think Nelson can make the grade in North London.

But many have argued that his development has stagnated. And they fear that they may rue handing him a new deal.
