A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Sunday Mirror (18/7; page 83) claiming that the Gunners are battling the likes of Atletico Madrid and others for Max Aarons.

Mikel Arteta’s men will surely strengthen their right-back options if Hector Bellerin leaves this summer.

It has previously been claimed that Bellerin has told Inter Milan that he wants to join them. And it seems that Aarons is on their radar.

However, they look set to face some major competition. According to the Sunday Mirror, Atletico want the 21-year-old if Kieran Trippier leaves.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich also want the Norwich starlet, who Atleti hope to land for £25 million.

The news that the Gunners remain in the hunt has delighted many Arsenal fans on social media.

Several clearly think that he would be the ideal replacement for Bellerin.
