Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Gabriel display vs Liverpool

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Gabriel Magalhaes following his performance for the Gunners in their loss to Liverpool on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s men saw their unbeaten run in the Premier League come to an end. And ultimately, the display at Anfield highlighted the work that still lies ahead for the Gunners.

However, the mood amongst some of the Arsenal fans is more positive than some may expect. Clearly, a good number of the supporters can see the reasons for optimism. And the side looks to have a direction under Arteta.

Of course, there were major problems on Merseyside. But Arsenal boast the youngest side in the division. So days like Saturday were always likely at some stage.

But there were positives. Aaron Ramsdale was absolutely outstanding yet again. And plenty of fans felt that he was their best player following the full-time whistle.

However, he was not the only player to receive some praise. Gabriel was lauded by many, too.

No Arsenal player completed more passes than the 23-year-old. And no player on either side won more tackles than the centre-back, according to Whoscored.

Supporters also loved the way he defended Ben White after his teammate was brought down by a wild challenge from Sadio Mane.
