Arsenal fans react as Sampdoria reportedly eye Mohamed Elneny

Had Arsenal fans been asked before the start of pre-season whether they would mind seeing Mohamed Elneny leave on loan this summer, it is likely that many would have not had too many reservations.

Elneny spent last season on loan in Turkey. And it did not appear that he was missed too much, particularly following Mikel Arteta’s arrival as the midfield became a real strength for the Gunners.

However, the Egyptian has been involved since his return to the Emirates. And he has vindicated Arteta’s decision to bring him back into the fold.

His performance in Saturday’s Community Shield win over Liverpool was lauded by a number of fans. And it prompted some debate surrounding whether he could be involved this season.

However, Sampdoria are seemingly hoping that his future lies elsewhere. According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, the Serie A side want to take Elneny on loan.

It is suggested in the report that he is likely to leave Arsenal. But it would appear that few Gunners fans would have any interest in seeing him leave on loan.

A loan does not help Arsenal a great deal apart from shifting his wages off the bill for a period. And the supporters are adamant that it should be a permanent move or nothing.

Here is how some of the fans have reacted to the reports…
