Arsenal fans react as club reportedly eyeing Nabil Fekir from Real Betis
Arsenal are reportedly intent on signing Real Betis playmaker Nabil Fekir this summer, according to Goal reporter Charles Watts. Watts claims World Cup winner Fekir wants to move to the Gunners, and that Arsenal ‘like’ him. Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter, and many want Fekir signed.
Fekir, 27, is going through somewhat of a difficult time in his career. After seeing a proposed move to Liverpool fall through in 2018, he joined Spanish club Real Betis in 2019 and has since scored just 12 goals in 71 games – creating only 13 more. He improved last term, but he is far from his best.
Now, he is being linked once again with a move to the Premier League. Alexandre Lacazette’s former teammate, Fekir could be a replacement for Martin Odegaard. Goal reporter Watts confirmed that Arsenal want him, and that Fekir is keen to join a club like Arsenal.
What are Arsenal fans saying about Fekir?
The Gunners still have Emile Smith-Rowe in the 10 role but he needs help. Fekir is the perfect kind of player given that the £18million (Football London) Betis signing can also play out wide and up front. His asking price is said to be in the region of £26million, a bargain for a player of his calibre.
Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that the Gunners want to sign the playmaker this summer. Many fans believe that Fekir would improve a struggling Arsenal side, failing to find their best, consistent form under the guidance of under-pressure manager Mikel Arteta.
