The name of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is one which often perks the interest of Arsenal fans, especially with the club keen on a new midfielder.
Arsenal are thought to have Milinkovic-Savic on their radar, with reports from Calciomercato suggesting just last month that the Gunners were considering a £60m bid, plus Sambi Lokonga. That would have taken things up to the £80m mark, given Arsenal’s valuation of Lokonga.

Since then, we’ve heard little in the way of any more advancements on that. Worryingly, there’s been claims Tottenham are in the mix to sign the Serbian, while Liverpool are also known to have Milinkovic-Savic high on their own list.
With Serbia in action yesterday against Cameroon, it gave fans of all three of those clubs a chance to have a closer look. And boy, did he impress.
Milinkovic-Savic shows why Arsenal and more want him
The game in general was magnificent. Milinkovic-Savic got himself among the six goals scored with a well-taken strike in what was just a glimpse of how good he can be.
Interestingly, different media outlets also picked up on how good Milinkovic-Savic was. 90Min gave the Serbian a 9/10, commenting:
“A force to be reckoned with in midfield. Ran the show.”
ESPN also backed up that claim in awarding the midfielder an 8/10 rating, while 101 Great Goals also has Milinkovic-Savic as the highest rated Serbian with a 7.5. Certainly, it seems he caught the eye of more than just a few people with his performance.
Of course, back home in England, it’s well known Arsenal want a new midfielder. And in Milinkovic-Savic, they were given a demonstration today of what could be in the future.
This is a midfielder who has a bit of everything. For one, his a huge presence. But with that, he brings poise and class, as well as the ability to mix it up when required.
As it stands, Milinkovic-Savic is everything Arsenal haven’t had but have needed for years If they can get a deal done at some point, then it really does change the game for the Gunners.
