A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the performance of Takehiro Tomiyasu as the Gunners suffered an agonising defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.
Arsenal may have been left empty-handed against the champions, but their performance only showcased why Mikel Arteta’s men are definitely going to be in the mix for the top four this season.

The Gunners were outstanding at the Emirates. And ultimately, City’s winner only came in stoppage-time after Arsenal had already been reduced to 10 men.
Certainly, several Arsenal players were absolutely outstanding in the loss. And one of those who has been lauded on social media is Tomiyasu.

The Japan international had missed the previous two games. And he seemed to be a doubt to face City after not being pictured in training ahead of the game.
Thankfully, he was ready to play on Saturday. And it is fair to say that most Arsenal fans believe that he got the better of the battle with Raheem Sterling.
According to Whoscored, he won three tackles, made five clearances and three interceptions.
The 23-year-old is already well on his way towards securing cult-hero status in North London. The £15.5 million deal to bring him to the club in the summer looks to be an absolute masterstroke.
Some have labelled Tomiyasu the signing of the season in the Premier League, let alone for Arsenal. And many certainly feel that he was a contender for man of the match in yesterday’s game.
