Arsenal fans discuss reports that Gunners board are considering 52-year-old as replacement for Arteta

Arsenal are reportedly considering replacements for Mikel Arteta already and Antonio Conte is at the top of their list. Arteta looked bewildered on Friday night as Brentford ripped up the script, beating the Gunners 2-0. Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to reports regarding Conte.

Goals from Sergi Canos and Christian Norgaard saw Brentford ease to a 2-0 win and while Arsenal had chances – nothing was clear cut. The Gunners were missing the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. But even then, they were far below the required standard.

Conte to Arsenal: Fans react

Arteta is under enormous pressure and some fans wanted the Spaniard replaced in the summer. But he is still in the dugout. However, a couple more losses and the Arsenal board could consider a change. If they do consider a change, there is no better option available than Conte.

ITA Sport Press claim that Arsenal want Conte and the board have made him their top priority. Little surprise, after Conte left Inter having won the Serie A title. He is a Premier League winner with Chelsea. Arsenal fans have discussed Conte and many are desperate for him to come in.

That is, even with Conte’s wage demands sitting at an eye-watering £196,000 a week – according to the report.
