Arsenal eye Raphinha alternative; Tottenham back in for 'perfect' Mourinho target: Saturday transfer round-up
Tottenham Hotspur want Jesse Lingard now that he is a free agent after leaving Manchester United this summer.
The Telegraph report that Spurs are interested in the midfielder to boost their homegrown quota.
Tottenham want Lingard
Jose Mourinho managed Lingard at United and wanted him at Spurs when he was in charge there according to ESPN.
And it seems Spurs are back in for the man who has been described as ‘perfect‘ when he is on form, but had a tough season last time out.
Elsewhere, Arsenal are seemingly looking to move on from their pursuit of Raphinha, who is apparently choosing between Chelsea and Barcelona.
They could make a bid for Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry (90min), who of course is one who got away from the Gunners first time around.
Gnabry’s contract situation with Bayern Munich is at a stand-off and Arsenal could look to take advantage to bolster their frontline.
Everton are also interested in signing Lingard, according to the The Athletic, as they look to replace Richarlison.
As the Brazilian has just gone to north London, losing out to Spurs for Lingard may well be another major blow for Frank Lampard.
In other news, Mohamed Salah has signed a new contract with Liverpool (Liverpool’s official website), bringing to an end a saga which dragged on throughout last season.
