Report: Arsenal actually could announce signing of 'world-class' player later today
Arsenal have all but completed the signing of Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, and they could even announce a done deal as early as today.
Reports broke last night from a number of reputable sources to suggest everything was agreed on a fee, personal terms, and contract length for Jesus to make the move to Arsenal.
And according to a report from The Telegraph today, Arsenal could actually announce the signing of the Brazilian as early as today. That would mean a perfect start to the week for Gunners fans, who have been eagerly awaiting Jesus’ arrival all summer long.
Arsenal are set to pay around £45m to bring Jesus to The Emirates from City. His signing will bring an end to a long and tiresome search for a new forward by Mikel Arteta and Edu. The Gunners thought they’d signed Dusan Vlahovic in January only to see Juventus snatch him away.
However, it now seems Arsenal have got their man and a Monday announcement would go down a treat with the Arsenal supporters.
Jesus leaves City after five seasons. He’s won four Premier League titles in that time and played a crucial role last season as they held off the challenge of Liverpool in the race for the title.
TBR’s View: Arsenal Sign Gabriel Jesus And It’s Great News For Gunners Fans
There can be no grumbling from the Arsenal fans this summer. Edu has gone out and worked his magic and the Arsenal squad is looking a whole lot better.
Signing Jesus is the icing on the cake but Arsenal are still chasing players like Raphinha. Getting players in who are ‘world-class‘ like Jesus is vital for Arsenal if they are to ever push towards challenging for the title again.
In terms of Monday morning news for Arsenal fans, it doesn’t get much better than this.
