Report: Arsenal to announce Gabriel Jesus signing within days as Edu beats Paratici to the punch

Arsenal are close to completing a deal to bring Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus to the club, according to Goal.

After weeks of will he or won’t he talk from a number of different media outlets, Goal has reported that a deal to bring Jesus to Arsenal is now closer than ever and could even be announced in the next few days.

It would bring an end to the pursuit for a striker for Mikel Arteta and Edu, who have been trying to land a quality forward since the January window. The Brazilian striker is set to leave Manchester City, who signed Erling Haaland this summer to bump Jesus down the pecking order a tad.

Should Arsenal land their man, it would continue a summer of spending for the club once more. They’ve already signed Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos, while others are set to follow. The Gunners hope to sign Youri Tielemans, while Leeds winger Raphinha is a top target as well.

Jesus is said to be open to moving to Arsenal despite the lack of Champions League football. Tottenham have also been linked with a move for him, although it does seem like the Gunners are further down the line.

TBR’s View: Arsenal Fans Can Finally Start To Celebrate

If it is finally close to being done, then Arsenal fans can start to crack a beer open and celebrate the signing of a top forward player. Finally.

Or so it seems, anyway. Gunners fans are probably wise enough to realise nothing is done until the club announces it, so some will be wary of going before the horse has bolted here.

If, as reported, Arsenal have got Jesus over the line, then it’s a fine piece of business by the Gunners. He is just what they need, and will make a world of difference.
