Arsenal are now eyeing their second signing of the summer transfer market having already landed Riccardo Calafiori.
Mikel Arteta‘s side are up and running in their 2024/25 Premier League campaign with a solid win on opening day against Wolves.
However, it has not been the busiest of summer’s for the north London club who have been very selective in how they have done their business.
Some players have departed the club and more could be headed for the doors, but there is still time for Arsenal to bring in some further additions.
Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah has now agreed personal terms with Nottingham Forest as he seeks more regular Premier League minutes.
And it seems there is one striker who Arsenal are very keen to potentially add to their squad for the new campaign.

Arsenal return to table for striker target as Mikel Merino deal nears
Arsenal are now closing in on the signing of Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad after weeks and weeks of discussions with the Spanish side.
But the north London club’s attentions may now be starting to turn on to their next potential signing after Merino.
And reports in Italy are suggesting there is one player which the Gunners are now returning to ahead of next week’s deadline.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal have now returned with their interest in the Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen is a player who is looking for a way out of Napoli this summer with the Nigeria international keen on an exit.
It had previously been claimed that Osimhen was keen to join Arsenal this summer but he did have interest from elsewhere.
With Napoli closing in on the signing of Romelu Lukaku, this could well free up a late move for the Nigerian striker.
Arsenal could end summer really strongly with Victor Osimhen signing
Arteta has already shown his hand in the season opener where his stance lies over Arsenal’s striker situation.
Gabriel Jesus was seriously underwhelming last term as he provided the Gunners with a return of just four goals in the Premier League.
That saw him benched for the opener against Wolves with Kai Havertz being handed the spot up top from the start.
Although Havertz may have got on the scoresheet, adding a prolific striker like Osimhen – who’s been labelled ‘one of the best players‘ in the world – would be a real statement to their rivals at the top of the Premier League.
Given the talks over Merino are close, this could be some end to what has been a quiet summer for Arsenal.
