Arsenal and Tottenham both in talks with agent of 'phenomenal' defender - journalist

Arsenal and Tottenham are both talking to the agent of Evan Ndicka as they look to sign the defender for free.

That’s according to the respected German journalist Christian Falk anyway, who has been speaking to CaughtOffside about Ndicka’s situation.

Ndicka has been linked with a move to England for months now. Indeed, it was even claimed he’d agreed a deal with Arsenal, before that talk went quiet a month or so ago.

However, Ndicka’s name has once again come to the fore. And according to Falk, both the Gunners and Tottenham are trying to lure him to north London.

“I think there’s a good chance that he’ll sign this contract but there are many clubs interested at the moment, one of them is Arsenal. It’s not so concrete that Frankfurt are really afraid of losing him,” Falk said.

“They also know what his qualities are at the moment, so perhaps it’s too much of a big step for him at this point. They hope that they will sign him up on another contract. Arsenal, Tottenham and AC Milan – I think they’re all talking to the agent but it’s not massively concrete at the moment as Gladbach are confident about their chances of extending his contract.”

Lauded as ‘phenomenal‘ by Adi Hutter, Ndicka is widely seen as one of the best Bundesliga defenders around and has been praised for being a ‘complete package’.

TBR’s View: Ndicka ideal for Arsenal or Spurs

A young, big, powerful central defender is just the ticket for both of these clubs. Arsenal tick so many boxes for Ndicka but Spurs remain an interesting project under Antonio Conte as well.

For Ndicka, it seems like he has a big decision to make. He can stay in Germany by the looks of it, but a move to the Premier League is surely tempting for him right now as well.

Arsenal and Tottenham both improve by signing Ndicka, there is no doubt. It could just be a question of which club he fancies the most right now.
