Arsenal £25m star says that he loves working under Mikel Arteta
Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney claims he loves working behind the scenes with club manager Mikel Arteta.
Tierney, 23, has been one of ever-present for the Gunners during Arteta’s reign so far. Admittedly, he’s struggled with a few injuries.
The £25million defender is considered one of the most reliable players at the Emirates Stadium, and one that moving forward can be part of a successful team in north London.
He’s an all-action left-back with pace, aggression and power.
The Scotland international finished the season with five assists in 38 appearances to highlight his offensive game, while defensively he’s strong one-on-one.
Interestingly, Tierney has pinned most of his improvement on Spanish boss Arteta.
“I listen to everything the manager tells me, word for word,” Tierney told The Sun.
“I love working with him, he’s helped me massively.
“If you can see the differences in my game in the last 18 months or so it’s because of Mikel Arteta and what his coaching staff have been telling me to do.
“I’ve been working on their advice every day. I’m really grateful for what the gaffer’s done for me.”
Arteta should name Tierney next Arsenal captain
If Arsenal are to bounce back next year from a really poor season, they need to show much more character on the pitch.
Tierney, who is a fan favourite, is one of the much-needed leaders on the pitch.
He’s already worn the armband earlier in his career at times in a Celtic shirt, which is quite the achievement for someone so young.
The vocal full-back is passionate on the pitch for Arsenal and someone the team should be built around.
