Antonio Conte will now surely give ‘unbelievable’ Tottenham talent chance after what happened in North London Derby - TBR View
Spurs fell to a disappointing 3-1 defeat against their bitter rivals Arsenal at the Emirates, ending their unbeaten start to the new Premier League season.
Antonio Conte’s men were on the backfoot for the first half hour and found themselves 1-0 down after a Thomas Partey goal.
Spurs did grow into the game and looked to be gaining more control from the 30th minute though. And Conte’s men got themselves level through a Harry Kane penalty.
But they started the second-half slowly and went behind after Gabriel Jesus pounced on an error by Hugo Lloris. Then the game was completely taken away from Spurs after Emerson Royal was sent off.
And with the Brazilian set for a spell on the sidelines, Conte will now surely give the ‘unbelievable’ talent Spence a chance in the Spurs side over the coming weeks.
Conte will surely give Spence chance
Spence has made just one appearance for Tottenham so far this season, which came in the final minutes against his former side Nottingham Forest.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a brilliant campaign for the Reds last season in the Championship and earned his move to Conte’s Spurs.
But the England U21 international is yet to force his way into the Italian’s side so far. But he could now be presented with the ideal opportunity after Royal’s red card.
Spence put in a decent performance for England’s youth side last week against Italy and showed he can provide the attacking threat required from Conte’s wing-backs.
Emerson has failed to impress this season but seems to be the first-choice for the right-sided wing-back spot at this moment in time.
But this could surely now change with the Brazilian set for a spell on the sidelines. Conte does have the option of Matt Doherty and with Spurs set to place twice every week, Spence could get his chance over the coming weeks.
The former Middlesbrough man seems to have all the qualities required to play in the wing-back role for Conte.
The youngster just needs a chance in the first-team and he will be hoping that he could now be presented with one after Emerson’s dismissal yesterday.
