Antonio Conte makes point about £30m Arsenal player straight after Tottenham's defeat last night
After the Gunners beat Spurs 2-0 on Sunday, Conte called Ramsdale the man of the match after his side’s second half resurgence.
And speaking to the BBC last night, he again referenced Ramsdale, after Spurs surrendered a 2-0 lead to lose to Manchester City.
Spurs continued to slip away from the top four race and the pressure mounted on Conte on a night where his own goalkeeper Hugo Lloris let in Riyad Mahrez’s shot at the near post to make it 3-2.
Conte again references Ramsdale after Spurs lose to City
Conte said: “For sure we are not happy. In the last two games we have lost against first and second in the table.
“But at the same time I think that we played good games, also against Arsenal. Against Arsenal their keeper was the best player on the pitch, we created chances.
“Today also we created chances, we scored goals. But at the same time this season compared to last season we are conceding more goals.”
The £30 million man was at the centre of controversy after full-time but his performance to preserve the clean sheet was impressive.
That said, Conte’s Spurs did not play so well that he had to put in a masterclass to keep the win, which seems to be the insinuation as he keeps mentioning the England man.
Spurs have had a poor week, with two defeats in a row to break any burgeoning momentum, and they need to get back on track against Fulham on Monday.
