Ange Postecoglou has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur star Heung-min Son is a ‘generational’ player.
Spurs have had a solid season so far, and their captain has been fantastic for them. He is one of their best players, but sadly, Tottenham will have to do without him for a few weeks now as he’s off to represent South Korea in the Asian Cup.

Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham’s Heung-min Son is a ‘generational’ player
Tottenham signed Son Heung-min from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2015 for £22 million (Guardian).
The South Korean had a difficult debut season at White Hart Lane, and there were question marks over whether Spurs had brought in the right player.
However, Son has proved to be one of the best signings in Tottenham’s history, and he will go down as a legend of the club in the coming years.
Son will be away for about a month now as he looks to lead South Korea to glory in the Asian Cup.
Ange Postecoglou was asked if international commitments mid-season will make clubs decide against signing players from Africa or Asia in the future.
The Spurs boss claimed he’d hate it if that happened and pointed at how clubs would miss out on ‘generational’ talents like Son if they go down that route.
Postecoglou said, as per Football London: “I’d hate for that to be the case because you’d miss out on some fantastic talent.
“We’ve got a generational player from Asia that’s been representing our club. If we lose him every four years for five weeks, I think it’s a real small price to pay.”

Tottenham will miss Son
Son has been one of Tottenham‘s best players so far. Ange Postecoglou even backed him to be included in the Team of the Season.
The 31-year-old has scored 12 goals and provided five assists for Spurs in 20 Premier League appearances. He is on course to hit 20 goals this season, which would be amazing.
However, Postecoglou now has to find a way to replace Son for about a month. He needs his other attackers to step, which won’t be easy as the Korean is on a level of his own.
Tottenham will definitely miss Son in the next few weeks, but Spurs should still back themselves to get over the line in most of their games.
