Tottenham Hotspur have a number of excellent young players at the club.

The North Londoners have often received stick for their recruitment and academy development over the years. Some of that criticism was definitely warranted.

However, things have been very different recently.

Tottenham have signed several excellent young players, while their academy has been producing a few incredibly talented youngsters as well.

One of them seems to have impressed Ange Postecoglou.

Ange Postecoglou delivers verdict on Tottenham’s Mikey Moore

Mikey Moore is arguably Tottenham’s most talented young player.

The teenager, who is still only 16 years old, is so good that he has already made his senior debut for Spurs in the Premier League.

Moore has been given opportunities by Postecoglou in this summer’s pre-season games as well, and the youngster has been fantastic.

All signs point towards Moore being included in Tottenham’s first team for the 2024/25 season, and we think he completely deserves to be there.

Postecoglou is a big fan of him too, and he has hailed the teenager. However, he has also explained how important it is for the club to protect young Moore.

He said, as per Football London: “It’s fair to say, it’s incredible that he’s 16 turning 17. He handles it really well, and that’s part of the process when you’re a young footballer if you’re going well. We can’t protect him from all of it. But he’s been great.

“We brought him into the first-team environment at the back end of last year. He’d had some injuries earlier in the year. Every time he’s played for the Under-18s or Under-21s, he’d had an impact. For a very young guy, he adjusted really quickly.

“He’s come back pre-season and done really well in the games and in training. It’s great for this football club that’s come through our academy and is already showing great promise.

“But, he’s a young man. Our role is to have the best possible environment for him to be the best footballer he can be.”

Other Tottenham teenagers who could become stars

Moore is almost certain to be a superstar in the coming years, but he isn’t the only exciting young talent at Tottenham right now.

Spurs signed Archie Gray from Leeds United this summer, and the 18-year-old has the potential to become one of the best midfielders in the country in a few years’ time.

19-year-old Will Lankshear has also had a fine pre-season up top for Tottenham, and he could get senior opportunities too in the upcoming campaign.

Jamie Donley has also impressed in Tottenham’s pre-season, and his versatility of playing at left-back could come in handy for Spurs this season.

Tottenham’s future looks really, really bright. If Spurs can get the development of their young players right, they could become a very successful side in the Premier League in the coming years.
