Ange Postecoglou was not impressed with Djed Spence during pre-season, with the Tottenham Hotspur defender not showing the right attitude before he initially left on loan.
Djed Spence appears to be destined for the Spurs exit for the second time this season in the coming hours. Reports claimed that Spence is set to join Genoa on loan as part of the deal that will see Radu Dragusin join Tottenham.
It is a shame to see how much Spence has struggled at Spurs. He arrived for £20 million off the back of an outstanding loan spell at Nottingham Forest. But he has, so far, only made a handful of appearances for Tottenham over the last 18 months.
Ange Postecoglou was not impressed with Djed Spence in pre-season
Some may have hoped that the appointment of Ange Postecoglou would get the best out of the 23-year-old. But instead, Spence ended up joining Leeds on loan for the season.

And according to the Evening Standard, Spence was allowed to leave after failing to impress Postecoglou in pre-season. He struggled with punctuality and did not show the right attitude. And thus, he was given the green light to leave.
Spence has recently been training with the under-21s after having his loan at Leeds cut short. And he now seems to be heading for Italy, in a deal which will come with an option to buy.
Right-back could have been outstanding for Spurs
It is disappointing to hear that Spence failed to win Postecoglou over. Postecoglou has got some amazing performances out of the likes of Destiny Udogie, Pape Matar Sarr and former Forest teammate Brennan Johnson. So there is every reason to think that Spence could have been a huge success.
That may still be the case. But clearly, if he does well enough at Genoa to prove a point, you would imagine that the Serie A side will take up the option to keep him permanently anyway.
