As well as exploring further signings at Tottenham Hotspur this month, it seems Ange Postecoglou is also assessing a few loan deals.

It’s been a busy January for Spurs, a month that has already seen two new players make their debut.

And during a short winter break right now, it seems that Postecoglou is thoroughly assessing his extended squad.

It was recently reported that the Tottenham manager didn’t want to sanction a loan deal for Jamie Donley this month.

Postecoglou preferred to keep the youngster close to his first team for the remainder of the season.

However, that’s not the case with another big academy talent.

Jude Soonsup-Bell is having a remarkable season with Wayne Burnett’s table-topping under-21 side and looks on the cusp of a first team chance.

And with that in mind, football.london are now reporting that Postecoglou wants to test the Tottenham youngster out on loan for the rest of the season.

Soonsup-Bell currently has nine goals and five assists in his 13 games for the under-21s, and looks to be in the grey area between Spurs’ youth sides and senior squad.

Of course, it’ll be interesting to see which level Spurs will target for Soonsup-Bell if he does leave.

Tottenham currently have a host of youngsters out on loan right now.

21-year-old Troy Parrott is at Excelsior Rotterdam in the Eredivisie.

Alfie Devine has recently joined Ashley Phillips on loan at Plymouth Argyle in the Championship.

Whereas Matthew Craig (Doncaster Rovers) and Josh Keeley (Barnet) are playing in League Two and the National League respectively.

Perhaps fans will consider that Soonsup-Bell will find his way to a Championship club or thereabouts, perhaps even dropping to League One.

But it’s clear that the Tottenham youngster does have a lot of promise, Postecoglou wouldn’t want to test him out on loan otherwise.

Of course, Spurs fans will mostly be hoping to see their club make one more big addition this month.

And it now seems as if a £45m signing would be a real statement of ambition
