Tottenham Hotspur are fully up and running in pre-season, with two games under their belt already.

Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs took part in a behind-closed-doors friendly last week, running out 7-2 winners over Cambridge United.

And on Wednesday, Tottenham were back in front of the fans and cameras as they hammered Scottish side Hearts 5-1 in Edinburgh.

With so many Spurs players still unavailable after Euro 2024 and the Copa America, Postecoglou named a host of fringe players and youngsters in the squad.

Many players got a run-out, including Manor Solomon, who is now back in action after a difficult maiden season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou hopes for good pre-season for Manor Solomon

Solomon only got 280 minutes of club action under his belt in 2023/24 before suffering a long-term knee injury that required surgery.

However, the 24-year-old is now fully fit, and was able to start the game against Hearts, coming off at the break as Postecoglou overhauled his entire XI.

Speaking after the game, Postecoglou told the Tottenham media team: “Manor has missed a whole lot of football, that’s for sure.

“I think he’s happy to be out there again and, again, a good pre-season for him will hopefully get him back up to speed.”

Solomon eager to show his quality

Solomon joined Tottenham in 2023 on a free transfer after his departure from Shakhtar Donetsk, having impressed on loan at Fulham the previous season.

Postecoglou revealed a year ago that Solomon looked “really exciting” in Spurs training, and he duly did well in his first few games for the club.

Sadly, Solomon wasn’t able to play for most of the season after picking up the knee injury, but hopefully he’ll have better luck this time and can really show what he’s capable of.
