Ange Postecoglou painted a disappointed figure at full-time last night as Tottenham Hotspur were held to a 1-1 draw against newly promoted Leicester City at King Power Stadium.
The North Londoners controlled the first half and perhaps should’ve gone into the half-time interval two or three goals up.
But, they failed to take their chances and allowed the home side to get back into the game in the second half, with Jamie Vardy netting the equaliser.
Speaking after the game, Postecoglou gave his verdict on Dominic Solanke’s debut.

Ange Postecoglou says Dominic Solanke will be disappointed
Tottenham completed the £65m signing of Dominic Solanke earlier this month and he made his first Spurs outing at the King Power on Monday evening.
Postecoglou, speaking post-match, gave his verdict on his Spurs debut.
“Yeah, he was good,” he said, via Football London.
“He worked hard for the team. He had a couple of chances. He will be disappointed he didn’t do better with and the overall performance of everyone was OK, but it doesn’t mean anything if we don’t turn that performance into outcomes.
“We had similar issues last year and if we’re going to get to the next level as a team and bridge the gap to the top sides, it is an area of the game we need to improve.”
Tottenham can’t afford to be wasteful
It’s only the first game of the season but there are evidently lots of improvements to be made, particularly in attack.
Tottenham lacked an end product despite promising build-up play, but that will come with continuity and more game time together.
Solanke will be eager to get off the mark against Everton this weekend.
