Andrew Robertson replies to Joe Gomez on Instagram

Andrew Robertson was amongst those sending messages of support for Joe Gomez on Instagram after the defender made his return to Liverpool training after eight months out.

The Reds look set to receive a huge boost ahead of the new campaign. As confirmed on the club’s official website, Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold all took part in the club’s training camp in Austria.

Gomez has been sidelined since November due to a knee injury. And of course, Jurgen Klopp’s men missed him, as well as van Dijk.

But he is now back in training.

And following his return, Gomez took to social media to express his delight at getting back out there…

Unsurprisingly, the news went down extremely well. Robertson was amongst those to reply, along with Harvey Elliott and Kostas Tsimikas…

Gomez return helps boost Liverpool hopes of much better campaign

There is no question that Liverpool’s season ended on a major high. An amazing run – which included an Alisson winner – helped the Reds secure a top four finish.

However, it was an extremely tough campaign. And injuries more than played their part in Liverpool struggling to defend their Premier League title.

So having the likes of Gomez and van Dijk back should make a huge difference.

Obviously, Klopp will be wary of asking too much too soon of both centre-backs. But there is plenty of time for the pair to get themselves ready for the new campaign.

And it seems that they are well on their way.
