Liverpool have been rocked by the news that Joe Gomez has suffered a potentially serious injury in training with England ahead of tomorrow’s friendly with the Republic of Ireland.
The Reds have endured rotten luck with injuries this season and losing another central defender could be seriously detrimental to their hopes of retaining the title.
Liverpool are already without Virgil van Dijk who will probably miss the rest of the campaign, whilst Joel Matip is hardly the most reliable when it comes to staying fit.
As of yet, there is no official confirmation of the injury suffered by the 23-year-old, although Gareth Southgate believes it to be a significant one.
Gomez earns £75,000-a-week at Anfield and this latest injury blow is a massive loss to Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp will be desperately hoping for some positive news, although Southgate’s comments suggest a bleak outcome.
