By most accounts, new sporting director Andrea Berta has had a pretty incredible start to life at Arsenal.
Andrea Berta has already overseen the arrival of several quality new additions at Arsenal, as well as masterminding some important contract renewals.
Declan Rice is excited to play alongside Noni Madueke for example, a deal which might prove to be one of the most understated of the summer.
And in terms of new deals, Ethan Nwaneri has agreed to sign a new contract with Arsenal — it’s all looking pretty positive in N5.
Of course, Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres breakthrough has only added to that good feeling as well — Mikel Arteta will finally have a new striker to work with at the Emirates.
Alexander Isak wants Newcastle exit but Arsenal have already signed Viktor Gyokeres
That being said, Berta might actually now secretly regret his move to sign Viktor Gyokeres, even if that’s something he could never admit.
The reason being is Alexander Isak has suddenly informed Newcastle that he wants to leave, and for a very long time, the Swede has been Arteta’s dream number nine to come in.

It was only in January that reliable journalist David Ornstein said Arteta wanted Alexander Isak more than anyone — the Newcastle striker is the number nine he’d sign in an ideal world.
That’s not to say that Arteta won’t be happy with Gyokeres, he’s an excellent striker in his own right.
But if Alexander Isak leaves Newcastle, potentially to join Arsenal’s rivals in Liverpool, Arteta and Berta would be forgiven for feeling a bit downbeat on their luck.
On the provision that Newcastle were refusing to sell Isak earlier this summer, Arsenal were sensible and realistic about their striker search — they quickly moved on to other targets.
But now Arsenal have finally agreed to sign Gyokeres, this Isak decision has surfaced.
Mikel Arteta will still be delighted to work with Viktor Gyokeres
TBR Football recently revealed that Arsenal were unmoved by the Isak situation — his sudden availability wasn’t going to change their plans.
And in reality that is an understandable stance, the club are probably way too far down the road in terms of signing Gyokeres.
But Berta might still secretly regret that he’s now unable to sign Arteta his dream striker, one the club seemingly didn’t expect to agitate for a move this summer.
That being said, Arsenal are right to stick with Gyokeres — it would be unfair on the player at this point to turn their back on him given what he’s done to push through a move to the club.
And in that respect, Gyokeres deserves to wear Thierry Henry’s famous 14 shirt at Arsenal next season, a move the club might decide to take.
It’ll be painful for a lot of Arsenal fans to watch if Isak does move to Liverpool — Arteta surely won’t enjoy it either.
But Arsenal will still have a prolific Swedish striker to get behind, one that can help them win trophies.
