‘Amazing’: Some Crystal Palace fans love links to 26-year-old midfielder
Crystal Palace are receiving links with Watford midfielder Will Hughes – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are happy with the transfer speculation.
Football London claims that Palace are looking at the Watford player due to the fact he’s fallen out with his club. The 26-year-old has dropped down to the Under-23s right now because he’s turned down a long-term contract with them.
It is understood the left-footed central midfielder is “likely” to exit Watford this summer, despite the fact he’s got one year still remaining on his deal.
Patrick Vieira’s Palace have been very busy in the transfer market, so it’s exciting for the fanbase that they are still looking to improve the squad.
Will Hughes can add Palace depth
A selection of Palace supporters on social media believe Watford’s outcast could do a job at Selhurst Park.
It feels like Hughes has been around for ages, but only turned 26 in April.
He played 30 league games last season as Watford earned automatic promotion from the Championship. In total, he’s just five appearances short of 200 in the second tier.
However, he’s also played 77 Premier League games, too. There is a lot of experience in the midfielder who operates quite effectively in a deep-lying playmaker role.
He would bring a new dimension to the squad, so it looks a no-brainer for Vieira.
