'Also this weekend': Romano claims Edu is working right now to bring 'perfect' player to Arsenal
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal negotiations.
The Gunners have made a breakthrough in talks to bring the Manchester City star to the Emirates Stadium.
On Friday, Romano reported that Arsenal and City had finally reached agreement over a deal for Jesus.
The Gunners will pay the Etihad outfit a “guaranteed fee” of £45million for the Brazil international.
Arsenal are now working on personal terms with Jesus’ camp, added Romano.
Now, the transfer guru has claimed that Gunners director Edu is working this weekend to get the deal done.
Arsenal have presented Jesus with a five-year contract, added Romano.
In his latest Twitter post, he once again reiterated that the two clubs have “100%” agreed a deal.
Arsenal have been chasing Jesus all summer and it finally looks like the endgame is in sight.
If all goes well, the Gunners should be able to announce the “perfect” striker’s arrival soon enough.
This will bring an end to Arsenal’s search for a new world-class centre-forward.
If/when Jesus joins, Mikel Arteta will have him and Eddie Nketiah as senior striker selections.
Arsenal are reportedly also chasing Leeds United winger Raphinha.
The Elland Road outfit reportedly wants £65million to sell Jesus’ international teammate.
Arsenal have already got two signings over the line in Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira.
Matt Turner is also joining the Gunners, though the club is yet to make an announcement.
