Ally McCoist stunned by what talkSPORT pundits told him about Kalvin Phillips
It has been almost a month since Kalvin Phillips left Leeds United, but it looks like the Englishman is still a member of the club’s WhatsApp group chat.
The 26-year-old has been a hero to Leeds fans over the last few years. He was one of the biggest reasons why they achieved promotion back to the Premier League, and he has been a fine player for them in the top flight as well.
About two weeks ago, Phillips revealed that he was still in the Leeds United group chat. “The day that I get kicked out, I’ll be quite upset,” he said.
Many on social media have been debating if Phillips should be allowed to stay in Leeds’ WhatsApp group. TalkSPORT pundits Stuart Pearce and Alan Brazil feel he should, but Ally McCoist is completely against it.
Ally McCoist says Kalvin Phillips should be removed from Leeds United’s WhatsApp group chat
On talkSPORT this morning, Brazil asked Pearce what he thought about Phillips staying on the Leeds United WhatsApp group chat.
“Keep him on board,” said Pearce, to which Brazil replied saying: “I agree!”
A completely stunned McCoist then said: “You cannot! I’m shocked at you Pearcey. How can you keep an opposition team member on board with the gang?
“He’s out! He’s got to go, he can have a private WhatsApp group, but he’s got to go!”
TBR View:
We don’t really know who to side with here, to be honest.
Phillips is still adored by everyone at Leeds. The fans, players and staff all love him, and it’s not really wrong to keep him in the group chat when you think about it.
However, at the end of the day, he is an opponent. McCoist certainly has a point when he says Phillips has got to go, but it definitely won’t be easy for whoever’s in charge to kick him out of the group.
We’re curious to hear what Leeds fans think – should Phillips remain a part of the club’s WhatsApp group or should he be removed immediately? Tell us in the comments section down below!
