Allan Saint-Maximin has been quoted by Foot Mercato as saying that he believes Newcastle’s new owners will help him reach his ambitions.
Saint-Maximin, 24, has been superb for Newcastle despite the club’s poor form of late. He has had a hand in five goals, during nine league games.
Despite the £305million Saudi-backed takeover, Newcastle still find themselves in the relegation zone of the Premier League.
Saint-Maximin is clearly playing to a standard far higher than Newcastle are currently. There are reports that other Premier League clubs are keen.

CalcioMercato recently reported that Everton, Liverpool and Chelsea all wanted the Frenchman. But Saint-Maximin is happy to stay at Newcastle.
Saint-Maximin says he wants to play for France and in the Champions League – but is confident the new Toon owners can help him do that.
“I have goals; the World Cup, the Champions League in mind. I’m pretty happy with what’s going on for the club right now,” Saint-Maximin said.
“So, of course I hope that with the redemption of the club, my desires, my ambitions will be in line with everything that is happening at the moment.”

Newcastle fans will be relieved by Saint-Maximin comments
But the Frenchman will be hopeful things improve and very quickly. There needs to be signs of ambition over the next few months.
A new manager, with a high profile, and a couple of exciting signings in the January window. Enough to keep them in the Premier League.
Then, in the summer, the kind of signings required to take Saint-Maximin and Newcastle into the top half – fighting for the top eight.
Failure to do this and Saint-Maximin, before the 2022 Qatar World Cup, might be tempted to find a new home. But for now, fans will be relieved.
