Report: Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton all want to sign £70m-rated Newcastle ace

A report from CalcioMercato says Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton are all in the race to sign Newcastle United favourite Allan Saint-Maximin.

Saint-Maximin, 24, has made a brilliant start to the season – despite Newcastle’s dismal form. He has five goal involvements in six league games.

Scoring twice, no.10 Saint-Maximin also has three assists. Many say he is carrying Newcastle, head and shoulders above his teammates.

Even Don Hutchison, a Newcastle fan, said this week that he is ‘petrified’ at losing Saint-Maximin. He touted Tottenham and Everton as possible moves.

One of those are now reportedly keen. The report says Rafa Benitez wants him at Everton – but may face competition from Liverpool and Chelsea.

Which club best for Saint-Maximin – Liverpool, Everton or Chelsea?

It is a similar story for Saint-Maximin at Liverpool and Chelsea. He would be on the fringes of starting XI, but he would not start for either.

Now, he is still only 24 and the way he is playing at Newcastle suggests he has the potential to feature regularly – and eventually start.

But he is the kind of player that needs momentum in order to do so. He wouldn’t get that at Liverpool or Chelsea, as a rotation player.

At Everton, he would be brilliant. Benitez likes to play on the counter and that suits Saint-Maximin. He would form a brilliant front three.

Alongside Dom Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison, Everton would have the fire power to take them into the top six. He is valued at £70million (Mail).
