Chelsea will face Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday, and Alan Shearer has made a significant prediction ahead of the game.
The two Premier League giants head into the game in different form, as Liverpool were defeated by Galatasaray in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, the Blues picked up three points in Europe by beating Benfica as Jose Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge.
However, neither team has been perfect lately, as Liverpool have lost two on the bounce in all competitions, and Chelsea have been beaten in their previous two Premier League games.
With the international break taking place straight after this, neither team will want to lose, due to the potential ramifications it could have on them.

Alan Shearer believes Enzo Maresca will be under ‘huge pressure’ if Chelsea lose
Chelsea and Liverpool’s recent performances and results have been less than ideal for either team, which is what makes this particular game so important.
During Shearer’s Premier League predictions for the Metro, the Newcastle United legend revealed he thinks the game will be a draw, but a poor result will impact Enzo Maresca.
“It’s a great game. Liverpool can’t lose three on the spin, they’re the defending champions and pre-season title favourites.
“If Chelsea lose three league games on the spin, Maresca is under huge pressure as well. I’ll probably sit on the fence because of the importance of both teams not losing the game.”
Maresca was heavily backed during the summer transfer window, with the club spending £296.5million, which is adding plenty of pressure on the Chelsea boss.
However, this fixture is equally as important for Arne Slot, as a defeat would open up the opportunity for Arsenal to overtake them in the Premier League table.
What is the record between Chelsea and Liverpool?
Historically, Chelsea have had the better of Liverpool in this fixture, as they have won 31 times out of their 85 meetings compared to Liverpool’s 28.
This is particularly true at Stamford Bridge, where the game is this weekend, as Chelsea have won 22 times in comparison to Liverpool’s 12.
However, Liverpool’s recent history is on their side. The Blues have only won two of their previous ten meetings against the 20-time champions.
Although the last time the two teams met, Chelsea took all three points with an impressive 3-1 win.
