Newcastle United have managed to fend off interest in their biggest stars this summer.
The Tyneside club have not raised any eyebrows with their transfer business so far, but it was arguably more important for Eddie Howe to keep his squad together rather than add to it.
After impressing in recent seasons, several Newcastle United stars emerged on the radar of ‘Big Six’ clubs, including Bruno Guimaraes, Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak.
Guimaraes was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City, while Liverpool were tipped with a shock move for Gordon.
As for Isak, the Swedish striker shined last season with 25 goals in all competitions and, as a result, Isak was subject to interest from Arsenal.
But interest from the Gunners has seemed to dwindle and Isak looks set to stay put at St James’ Park – much to Alan Shearer‘s delight.

Alan Shearer makes Alexander Isak prediction
Keeping hold of Isak this summer is better than almost any signing Newcastle could have completed.
The 24-year-old is quickly starting to justify the club-record £63million spent on him back in 2022.
Via The Mirror, Shearer said “It was great news when we realised that he was never going to be sold.”
“He’s a modern-day forward if you like, rather than a centre forward. The way he stops and then goes again, it makes it very difficult for defenders.
“I would have him as an outside bet really of challenging for the Golden Boot this season if he can stay fit.”
Alexander Isak at Newcastle United this season
Isak has already made a strong start to the season by providing the assist for Joelinton in their Premier League opener against Southampton.
But his biggest rival for the Golden Boot – Erling Haaland – has already opened his account for Manchester City with a goal against Chelsea.
As said by Shearer, Isak could rival the deadly Dane this season provided he can stay fit. He will hope to open his goalscoring account this Sunday when Newcastle travel to face Bournemouth.
