Manchester City are prepared to loan two players to Newcastle United if they sanction the sale of Bruno Guimaraes.

Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City and Arsenal over the last few months.

Guimaraes had a £100m release clause active earlier in the window but that has now expired, though, it’s not stopped any interest in him.

City are still hopeful of landing his signature and are now willing to loan two promising players to the Magpies in a bid to sweeten the deal.

Man City willing to loan Oscar Bobb and Rico Lewis

Newcastle’s CEO came out in a recent interview and claimed that he expects Guimaraes to remain on Tyneside this summer.

Though, that hasn’t put off Manchester City who are now exploring a deal to sign the Brazil international according to the Daily Star, via Sky Sports.

The report claims that City could loan Oscar Bobb and Rico Lewis to The Magpies in a bid to convince them to sell Guimaraes.

The highly-rated City duo would only be part of the deal if a fee close to £80m can be agreed, which is £20m below the asking price.

It’s understood that Bobb and Lewis are both players who Newcastle admire, so should The Citizens formalise the offer, it may be explored further.

Newcastle have a tough decision to make

Newcastle have a really tough decision on their hands as they now have the chance to land two exceptional players in exchange for Guimaraes.

If the 26-year-old is to leave in a year’s time anyway, perhaps it makes sense to jump at this opportunity now, even if it is sooner than expected.

Though, the board will have to contend with some unhappy fans around St James’ Park if they do.
