'Agreed personal terms', 'five-year deal': Romano shares early-morning Liverpool transfer update
Liverpool are edging ever close to signing Luis Diaz, with Fabrizio Romano updating Reds fans on the state of play.
The Reds have made huge progress in discussions over the Porto winger over the past couple of days.
Diaz, who was reportedly in talks with Tottenham, is now all-but set on a switch to Anfield.
Yesterday evening, Romano claimed Liverpool had put together a total package worth up to £54million for Diaz.
And according to Neil Jones of Goal.com, Liverpool were looking to fly representatives out to Argentina.
This is with a view of completing the Diaz move over the weekend.
The Colombia national team flew to Argentina last night following their World Cup qualifier against Peru yesterday.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, Romano provided an exciting update on the Diaz to Liverpool deal.
He claimed Diaz had agreed personal terms over a move to Anfield and would be joining on a five-year contract.
Liverpool and Porto are currently preparing paperworks and discussing on final details, added Romano.
Diaz has made a name for himself as one of the hottest talents in Europe over the past 12 months.
The 25-year-old has an impressive 16 goals and six assists from 28 club appearances in all competitions this term.
Last season, he produced 11 goals and six assists in all competitions for the Portuguese giants.
Diaz then excelled for Colombia at last summer’s Copa America.
He ended the competition with four goals, the joint-top scorer alongside Argentina’s Lionel Messi.
