After Eberechi Eze, Tottenham now want to sign £50m star who also dreams of playing for a different club

Tottenham Hotspur fans are understandably furious with the club’s failure to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.

Although Arsenal were always in the race to sign Eberechi Eze, Spurs’ rivals have seemingly taken a step back for weeks whilst they explored other options.

And it wasn’t until Kai Havertz’s injury that Arsenal suddenly stepped up their efforts.

Of course, most Tottenham fans simply can’t understand why Daniel Levy and his team didn’t swiftly conclude a deal in the interim for Eze.

Spurs have their own season-changing injury to contend with in the shape of James Maddison.

And yet Tottenham left the door open for Arsenal to swoop in and steal Eze, a player who could have made a real difference in N17.

Tottenham want Nico Paz but he dreams of playing for Real Madrid

In reaction to the Eze chaos, the Independent are now reporting that Tottenham see a move for Como’s Nico Paz as the most achievable option.

After leaving Real Madrid for Como in 2024, Paz has been thriving in a number 10 role in Serie A under Cesc Fabregas.

And the report says that Spurs are expected to make a swift move to find an alternative to Eze.

Although, after Eze chose to join Arsenal and following Morgan Gibbs-White’s decision to stay at Nottingham Forest, Spurs might be heading towards another fruitless pursuit if they do try and sign Paz.

First of all, TBR Football recently shared that Real Madrid have first option on Paz were he ever to leave Como.

And secondly, Paz confessed that it’s his ‘dream’ to join Real Madrid when speaking earlier this year.

Moreover, whilst Paz might cost Spurs close to £50m this summer, Real have an option to sign the Argentina international for a lot, lot less.

Morgan Rogers is another unrealistic transfer target for Spurs

In terms of Spurs wasting their time, Levy’s side are also now being linked with a move to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.

Tottenham have made calls to sign Rogers according to reports, a forward who is valued so highly at Villa Park.

In fact, TBR Football shared earlier this year that Villa would want £100m for Rogers, and given the lack of signings made by the club this summer, they perhaps might even reject a similar bid were it to arrive before the end of August.

Without trying to double down on Spurs fans’ frustrations with the Eze saga, it did seem as if signing the Palace maverick was the perfect opportunity.

And with just two weeks or so left in the transfer window, things are only getting more difficult.
