Matt Law has admitted he ‘wouldn’t be surprised’ to see Tottenham Hotspur offer Guglielmo Vicario a new contract at the end of the season.
Tottenham have enjoyed an encouraging start to life under Ange Postecoglou and their business in the transfer market has improved dramatically over the past couple of years.
In a summer where they snapped up the likes of James Maddison and Micky van de Ven, it could be argued that Guglielmo Vicario has been the standout addition.
Vicario made the switch to North London from Empoli, with Spurs paying £17 million to land the goalkeeper over the summer.

The Italian was a bit of an unknown quantity before joining and many Tottenham fans were initially underwhelmed by the addition due to links with David Raya.
But Vicario has excelled between the sticks and has even been named in Jamie Carragher’s Premier League Team of the Season so far.
Now, Matt Law has suggested that Vicario could become the latest Tottenham player to pen a new contract over the coming months.
Vicario could be offered new Tottenham contract
Of course, Spurs have already secured the long-term futures of both Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr recently.
The duo have penned deals until 2030 after encouraging starts to life under Postecoglou.
And speaking on the Last Word on Spurs, Law admitted he wouldn’t be surprised if Vicario is the next player to put pen to paper.
The Telegraph journalist said: “I wouldn’t be surprised if at some stage they look at Vicario you know. He’s not a kid.
“Again, I don’t know whether they’d give him a really long-term contract. But I wouldn’t be surprised given how well he’s playing in his form if they had a little look at Vicario.
“Probably more end-of-season job. I can’t see why they would be in any rush to do it at the start of the season.”

Vicario has undoubtedly been one of Tottenham’s standout performers this season and is arguably one of the main reasons they remain in the hunt for Champions League football.
Postecoglou has had to navigate his side through a difficult period due to an ongoing injury crisis.
During this spell, Vicario has stepped up and made some crucial saves at vital moments for his side.
Despite the fact the 27-year-old only signed over the summer, it would make sense for Spurs to reward his brilliant displays with a new contract and secure his long-term future at the club.
