Aaron Ramsey posts reaction to Granit Xhaka's display in Arsenal win

Aaron Ramsey joined a host of Arsenal players in lauding Granit Xhaka on Instagram in reaction to the Arsenal midfielder’s North London display against Tottenham on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s men produced their most important victory of the season so far. They blew Antonio Conte’s side away at the Emirates, with Xhaka scoring the third in a 3-1 win.

Xhaka’s goal seemed particularly significant because he has arguably been one of the revelations of the season so far.

The Swiss looks unrecognisable from the player who came in for so much criticism before Arteta’s arrival. Of course, reports from Calciomercato claimed that he was on the brink of leaving after Euro 2020.

But Xhaka has stuck around. And his stock as an Arsenal player has never been higher. He has been outstanding over the last 12 months.

And his redemption story gained another chapter on Saturday as he scored the third goal against Spurs.

Xhaka took to Instagram following the game. And there were messages from the likes of Gabriel Magalhaes, Bukayo Saka and Marquinhos. There was also a response from Ramsey, who clearly took great delight at seeing the result…

In many ways, a game against Liverpool may be the perfect follow-up game in the Premier League for the Gunners.

Understandably, Arteta’s side will be on a real high. Not only have they secured North London bragging rights again, but they have also handed Spurs their first defeat of the campaign.

It would be easy to be complacent in their next league fixture. However, they will know that they absolutely cannot be against a team like Liverpool – no matter how underwhelming Jurgen Klopp’s side have been so far.

Many more are now talking about Arsenal as title contenders. Those conversations will become a lot, lot louder if they beat the Reds next weekend.
