Aaron Ramsdale responds when asked if he is looking forward to facing Erling Haaland
Haaland had an underwhelming performance in the Community Shield loss to Liverpool and questions were asked about how he would settle in.
He has blown them all away with 12 goals in his opening eight matches in a blue shirt across all competitions, including two last time out against Sevilla.
Ramsdale appeared as a guest on A League of Their Own on Sky Max and at 9.23pm in the broadcast, host Romesh Ranganathan asked him if he was looking forward to facing Haaland.
Arsenal goalkeeper Ramsdale asked about facing Haaland
“A little bit, but no as well,” he said, with a smile on his face.
“Yeah I like playing against the best players but I just don’t want him to score too many!”
Pundits Jamie Redknapp and Micah Richards were also on the show and Redknapp joked: “He was saying earlier: ‘he won’t score past me!'”
Richards added: “You were giving it the big ‘un, behind the scenes, weren’t you?”
Ramsdale has a reputation as a straight-talker and he has been candid about how Liverpool’s Diogo Jota made him look like a ‘plonker‘ last season.
The first meeting between Arsenal and City this season is scheduled for 19 October at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.
Arsenal were meant to be hosting Everton this weekend but the game has been called off along with every other match in the country now.
